ALP Logistics Center | Site Location-The location of this ALP logistics Center is situated at the Dayuan District of Taoyuan City, which is part of the Aerotropolis, where nearby is the National Taiwan International Airport. The siting of this strategic location symbolizes the commitment of ALP expanding its service globally to the international world.
Design Concept-The concept of the ALP Logistics Center started from the fundamental element of logistics which is the invention of “barcode” imprinted on all of the products for scanning, categorizing, sorting, transporting and selling purpose. Both the floor plans and the elevations were designed in such a way that speaks to the idea of barcode in a sequential manner. The floor plans were laid out in an array of columns which span 12 meters in both direction on the first floor. Due to the decrease in load bearing, the column grid on the second floor was able to expand to 24 meters in both direction which help create a spacious open floor lay out. The mezzanine above the first and the second floor respectively was designed to house office cubicles such as manager rooms and meeting rooms overlooking the entire storage racks. Since the first and the second floor will be occupied by Unilever and 3M respectively, brand colors were then introduced and incorporated into the interior. A gradient of blue (Unilever) and red (3M) were painted onto the columns to create a vibrant working environment which not only inject positive energy into the space but also help break away from the traditional ambiance of darkness as evident in most of the warehouses across the globe. Moreover, to further address the dynamic nature of logistics center itself, a band of flowing lines were created to wrap around the frontal elevations to suggest the confluence of movement and time which reflects the core spirit of logistic business.
